Our story
Born from a meeting between friends, the vocal ensemble Les 4 Sens is the fruit of a shared passion for a cappella vocal music. Having all come from Marie-Laure Coenjaerts' singing class at the Royal Conservatory of Mons, the four singers began working together quite naturally. What unites them is the pleasure of creating together instinctively, combining artistic rigor and a shared musical vision. The quartet participated in the Génération Classique competition in conjunction with the Festivals de Wallonie and won the two first prizes in this competition. Strengthened by the jury's recognition, Les 4 sens are even more convinced and enthusiastic to share their voices and this repertoire. The ensemble draws on the convergence of four different profiles: Hanna Al-Bender (soprano), classical singer and music teacher; Violette Schloesing (mezzo), classical and jazz singer, architect, scenographer, actress and teacher; Ruben Goriely (tenor), classical singer, linguist and musicologist; and Samuel Desguin (baritone), classical singer, entrepreneur, economist. While they are still students, they already sing individually in professional ensembles such as the Vlaams Radiokoor and the Namur Chamber Choir. Together, the quartet performed at the Grand-Hornu site for a concert of 20th-century music and collaborated with the “Les Inattendues” festival. Les 4 Sens come together for a simple objective: to make works sometimes considered difficult accessible to as many people as possible, by approaching them through lively interpretations and a narration that links them together, thus creating a story. This tale is accessible to all audiences (children and adults) and allows you to create a story with characters with whom the audience can clearly identify.
